The True Temperament™ Fretting System is a revolutionary innovation in guitar fretboard design.
With its Curved Frets™, the system adjusts each individual contact point between string and fret — resulting in extremely accurate tuning across the entire neck.
This exclusive technology, known as Dynamic Intonation™, was developed based on the Thidell Formula One, a temperament that ensures perfect intonation in any key or chord.
In practice, this means that every note sounds purer, more balanced, and more musical — something impossible to achieve with traditional straight-fret guitars.
HOW IT WORKS?
On standard guitars, the placement of the frets is calculated based on a single variable: the scale length.
In the True Temperament system, each fret is individually adjusted to compensate for all the factors that affect sound — such as string tension, mass, and the change in pitch that occurs when pressing the notes.
The result is precise intonation across the entire neck, without compromising playability or the instrument’s comfort.
PLAYABILITY and EXPERIENCE
Despite all the technology involved, the playing feel is identical to that of a traditional guitar.
You can perform bends, vibratos, and slides with the same natural ease — the difference lies in the result:
the notes sound cleaner, more in tune, and with richer harmonics.
STRINGS and TUNING
No special strings are required.
True Temperament is designed to work perfectly with standard strings and bridges.
However, tuning follows its own logic — since the system does not use traditional equal temperament.
For this reason, tuners compatible with True Temperament mode are recommended, such as the Peterson models (StroboStomp HD, StroboPro), Sonic Research ST-300, and the Precision Strobe Tuner (PST) app, available for iOS and Android.
COMPATIBILITY with OTHER INSTRUMENTS
Guitars equipped with True Temperament work perfectly alongside standard instruments — such as basses, pianos, or traditional guitars.
The small intonation variations are so subtle that they don’t create any noticeable dissonance — only greater sonic clarity and definition.
